Treatment for refugees

Many refugees have experienced traumatic events in their home countries. We offer a short-term intervention aimed at assisting people who feel they are not coping with their stress reactions.

To be eligible for this treatment program you must be a refugee with permanent residency or Australian citizenship, who is experiencing distress related to refugee trauma.

The treatment involves weekly sessions with a clinical psychologist (and interpreter if required). It teaches skills to reduce posttraumatic stress reactions.

The treatment does not involve case management, assistance with visas, housing or financial difficulties.
